Birding Photography

A love for birding started with my kids. More specifically, it was a wonderful way to spend quality time outdoors with my daughter. We have hiked through mountains, through wetlands, through forests, through prairies; you get the picture. It has truly changed my life and the way I think about the sounds I hear each morning during morning walks. It makes me listen. To hear the sounds of birds, means to raise your level of awareness in order to separate the invididual melodies that play. The shrill sounds, the warning sounds, and the beautiful songs and chirps coming from birds to attract and to warn.

Without this love of birding, I most definitely would not have enjoyed as much time with my family. We have taken side trips on vacations just to capture a glimpse of a bird that we may never see anywhere else, while taking in sights that we may have never come across. There’s something to be said about that.

My goal is to share this love with others and curate a community of nature-loving individuals who all bring something different to birding. Get out there and listen.
